Hi Noah and everyone1 Any life form that possesses the technology to traverse such vast distances in space would likely be classified as a Type 1.5 or Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale. Considering that we are currently around 0.7 on that same scale, we would, in simple terms, be in deep trouble if they turned hostile and be able to offer little in resistance. If aliens were to launch an attack, they would likely begin by unleashing a disease to incapacitate and kill a significant number of humans. Following that, they might target the 440 nuclear power plants, destroying them and releasing a deadly worldwide cloud of radiation as a coup de grรขce. Regards February

There is no reasonably way to predict this sort of thing it how it would likely pan out/happen, but it's always fun to think about. Per Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scaleA Type I civilization is able to access all the energy available on its planet and store it for consumption. Hypothetically, it should also be able to control natural events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc. A Type II civilization can directly consume a star's energy, most likely through the use of a Dyson sphere. A Type III civilization is able to capture all the energy emitted by its galaxy, and every object within it, such as every star, black hole, etc. So yes the civilization of Earth is currently what is known as a Type 0 civilization. Is there some reason you think we might be Type 0.7, February?

Is there some reason you think we might be Type 0.7, February? We are likely less than a hundred years away from a Type 1 civilization, assuming we endure that long. due to the emerging development of A.I, according to boffins. February
