law of conservation of energy. Energy cannot be create or destroyed only transformed from one form to another.
Energy within a closed system will always remain constant. Our universe is a closed system while energy can move around it doesn't just disappear or come into existence this why the universe total energy is conserved
Another Example. If you was to have a ball rolling down a hill. The ball would have gravitational energy which is converted to kinetic energy and due to friction and air resistance that kinetic energy is converted to thermal energy (heat) which would eventually stop the ball from rolling.
The formula for calculating efficiency in physics is
efficiency = (useful energy output / total energy input) x 100%.
